SKY PIER
CONCEPTUAL IDEA
Observing the sky, which refers to millions of years ago, at a historical place is the fountain head of this project. People who have perceptual contact with the historical had been already informed about it and they get ready for observing the unknown astronomical past. Even if the individual gets into a capsule, the mind is spatialized with the knowledge of the historical information. From now on individual who is mentally related to the historical is not physically attached to them anymore. In line with these explanations, the capsules that generate the main concept of this project are named as ‘’ Sky Pier ‘’. We are now in between the earth and the sky.
CAPSULES AND THE PATH
Observation cabins which don’t include program, form the basis of the scenario. These cabins, homogeneously spread over the area, emphasize that where we are is not important for the observation. Also, these cabins increase the potential of the publicity of this area. Morphologically, the hexagon base shaped units have been designed to provide a possibility to articulate and assemble different forms. In this way, units that include several programs could be designed by the same attitudes. Then the assembled units could adopt the area with their own tectonic behavior perfectly. The path is designed in parallel with the slope and connected with upper and lower levels of the units. The path arrives at the castle and completes its formation without touching it.
